Yes. Microneedling stimulates your skin’s natural healing processes by creating tiny microchannels in the skin. This encourages collagen and elastin production, which can improve skin firmness and elasticity over time — helping to tighten and rejuvenate the skin.

Microneedles are used to make small punctures in the skin to stimulate the healing response of
your body. As the needles are incredibly small the procedure is relatively pain free. It is has often been described by patients as the procedure feeling like a mild scratching sensation. We also apply a topical numbing cream to help reduce the sensation.

The average number of treatments ranges between 3-6 treatments which are usually at an interval of 30 days apart. The exact number of treatments will depend on the condition that is being treated and the desired outcome.

Microneedling treatments are typically spaced 4–6 weeks apart to allow the skin time to heal and regenerate between sessions. The exact frequency depends on the condition being treated and your clinician’s recommendations.

Results vary based on your skin type, concerns, and number of sessions. Improvements in texture, tone, and firmness can last several months, especially with a recommended course of treatments and proper skincare maintenance.

Most patients experience redness and mild sensitivity for 24–72 hours after treatment. Any minor swelling or irritation usually settles within this period. Your skin will continue to regenerate over the following days as collagen production increases.

It’s best to wait at least 24 hours before applying makeup. This reduces the risk of irritation or infection while your skin begins its healing process.

Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure and is considered to be a low risk treatment. In the hands of a medically trained practitioner the treatment is well tolerated by patients.

You may have some redness that appears over the treated site, itching and a minimal amount of blood near the puncture sites. The treated areas may also be a little sore the following day, however these symptoms tend to resolve fairly quickly after treatment.

Microneedling is generally not recommended during pregnancy for safety reasons. It’s best to wait until after pregnancy and breastfeeding, and always consult your clinician before proceeding with any aesthetic treatment.

After microneedling, use gentle, soothing skincare products — such as:

• Hyaluronic acid serums for hydration
• Gentle moisturisers
• SPF daily for sun protection

Yes, but timing is important. It’s usually advised to wait at least 2 weeks after Botox injections before undergoing microneedling to avoid interference with the Botox settling and to minimise the risk of irritation.

Microneedling results tend to become visible a few weeks after treatment and the overall result can improve over the next 6 months. However it is important to note that the results will be directly dependent on the reason for the treatment, the extent of scarring or wrinkles and the number of sessions that have been completed.A clinical study published in The Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery investigated the efficacy of microneedling in 120 patients with scarring. This study found that all scars improved by at least 50% following treatment and 65% of patients experienced an improvement of more than 75%.
