ARE THERE ANY RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH POLYNUCLEOTIDE TREatment

Being aware of associated risks for treatment is essential for gaining informed consent. Polynucleotide is considered a low risk treatment but It is important you are aware of any risks that can occur.

Injection site reactions – as with any type of injection there is usually a mild inflammatory response at the puncture site which can result in redness, swelling, bruising and tenderness. These reactions tend to be mild and resolve within a few days.

Infection – there is a small risk of infection with any procedures that involve puncturing the skin. These risks are minimised by using aseptic techniques and ensuring exceptional levels of hygiene.

Allergic reaction – allergic reactions to the constituent elements of the polynucleotide formula can occur. Hence a comprehensive medical history is obtained prior to administering treatment.

Temporary Discomfort – Some patients may experience discomfort or itching at the injection sites. However this tends to resolve within a quick timeframe.

Frequently asked Questions About Polynucleotide Treatment

Polynucleotide treatment uses naturally derived DNA fragments that help support skin regeneration at a cellular level. When injected or applied to the skin, polynucleotides promote collagen and elastin production, improve hydration, and enhance tissue repair. The result is smoother, firmer, and more rejuvenated skin with improved texture and elasticity.

Polynucleotide treatments can be performed via microinjections or mesotherapy techniques directly into the skin. After cleansing the area, tiny amounts of polynucleotides are delivered with fine needles to stimulate regeneration. The procedure is minimally invasive and typically takes around 20–30 minutes.

The cost of polynucleotide treatment varies depending on the areas treated and the number of sessions recommended. A consultation with one of our facial aesthetics specialists is the best way to determine an accurate price based on your individual goals. Please refer to our facial aesthetics fees page for current pricing details.

Results from polynucleotide skin treatments can last several months, with many patients enjoying improvements for 3–6 months following a course of treatment. Maintenance sessions are recommended to prolong outcomes.

Our aestheticians apply a topical anaesthetic cream on to the proposed treatment areas which results in little to no discomfort for the procedure.

Common side effects may include some itchiness, redness or swelling around injection sites. However these symptoms resolve very quickly and the treatments are tolerated well by most patients.

The number of sessions required will vary upon the the condition of your skin and the desired outcomes. On average 3 sessions tend to be required but our aestheticians will assess your skin thoroughly at your consultation and make a recommendation on how many sessions will be required.

Downtime is minimal. Some patients may experience mild redness, tiny bumps, or light swelling at injection sites that usually resolve within 24–48 hours. Most people resume normal activities straightaway.

For optimal results, polynucleotide treatments are usually spaced 4–6 weeks apart, depending on your skin’s response and the recommendation of your clinician. A tailored treatment plan will be discussed during your consultation.

To support optimal results, avoid the following for the first 24–48 hours:

  • Touching or rubbing the treated area
  • Heavy exercise, saunas, or hot baths
  • Alcohol consumption
  • Strong exfoliants or harsh skincare products

After treatment:

  • Keep the area clean and moisturised
  • Use gentle skincare as advised by your clinician
  • Stay hydrated
  • Protect your skin with SPF if going outdoors
